Akila Nallabelli

Akila is a current sophomore at MSU in the Osteopathic Medical Scholars Program (OMSP) majoring in Human Biology and minoring in Entrepreneurship and Bioethics. After graduation, she aspires to go to MSUCOM for medical school and to eventually pursue a career in medicine as an OB/GYN or surgeon. During her free time she likes to draw, dance and sing and watch Netflix.

Avi Bloch

Avi is a sophomore undergraduate student from Farmington Hills, Michigan. He plans to double major in Neuroscience and Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Science. Avi hopes to learn more about how research is conducted, as well as absorb as much information as possible about the brain and clinical work to apply to his future aspirations in the Neuroscience field. After graduating, Avi plans on continuing his learning in some form of degree program, he is still unsure. In his free time, Avi loves to practice either piano or saxophone, as he is a member of the Spartan Marching Band, go to the gym, bake, or hang out with friends and play board games.

Ben Chandler

Ben is a fifth-year student double majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience with a Cognitive Science minor. After graduation, he plans to attend an MD/PhD program with the hopes of becoming a psychiatrist and neuropsychologist. As a scientist, he wants to research how the brain gives rise to the mind and use this knowledge to inform innovative clinical practice. In his free time, Ben likes to listen to music, play piano, ride his longboard, and hit the gym.

Brianna Lind

Brianna is a senior majoring in psychology with a minor in youth and society. After graduation, she wants to pursue her Ph.D. in clinical psychology focusing on adolescents with anxiety and depression. Specifically, those that fixate on suicide ideation. She is interested in researching risk factors and protective factors to create better prevention/intervention methods for suicide ideation. In her free time, you’ll catch her exploring new areas, cooking, and being on the water!

Christian Valade

Christian is a Junior at Michigan State University and is majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology. His academic interests have to do with mental health disorders, and the underlying factors within the brain that contribute to them. After graduation, he hopes to attend graduate school to further his understanding of the brain. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, playing basketball, video games, and quality time with friends

Emily Doane

Emily is a senior majoring in Psychology with a minor in youth and society. After graduation, she plans to pursue a PsyD in Clinical Psychology to be a practicing mental health psychologist. She is primarily interested in helping those with depression and anxiety. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with friends and family, and exploring new places.

Feng Liang

Feng is currently a junior majoring in Psychology and Philosophy at MSU. He is interested in the field of cognitive psychology and clinical psychology because he is curious about the mind and the ways of affecting it. After graduation, he would like to attend graduate school and help to consult people in the future. In his private time, he likes to sing, play the guitar, and dance.

Genevieve Ngo

Genevieve is a Senior at MSU majoring in physiology. She has a great interest in learning and is curious about understanding the inner workings of the human body and mind. After undergrad, she is planning to attend medical school and pursue a career in Emergency Medicine. During her free time, she likes to find ways to be active and express herself through arts, crafts, dance, and sports.

Jason Kazmierczak

Jason is a senior at MSU studying neuroscience and psychology with minors in bioethics and cognitive science. In the future, he plans to attend graduate school to become a clinical psychologist. He is particularly interested in researching the treatment of mental illness and trauma. In his spare time, he is likely teaching biology, playing video games, spending time outdoors, watching an awful scary movie, or hanging out with his friends and cat.

Jenny Warkentien

Jenny is a senior at MSU majoring in Psychology with minors in Cognitive Science and Human Behavior and Social Services. After graduation, she aspires to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology to administer research and/or practice clinically. She is primarily interested in researching novel interventions for psychopathology (e.g., PTSD, anxiety, depression). She hopes to narrow down those interests through her experience working as an RA. During her free time, she likes to go hiking, dance, and cook.

Jessica is currently a junior at MSU studying psychology with a minor in cognitive science. After undergrad, she plans to go  to graduate school to gain a better understanding of the brain. She is particularly interested in studying traumatic brain Injuries in children and helping them recover.  In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Jillian is a senior majoring in Psychology with minors in Cognitive Science and Bioethics. She plans to pursue a Psy.D. in clinical psychology, with a focus on trauma related psychological disorders. In her free time, Jillian would prefer to be skiing out west, but when that isn’t possible, she enjoys reading and watching The Crown.

Kristie Boynton

Kristie is a senior double majoring in Psychology and Mathematics with minors in Data Science and Quantitative Data Analytics. She’s interested in developmental psychopathology, and hopes to be able to research more targeted interventions for treating mood and other mental disorders in children and adolescents. After graduation, she hopes to pursue her Ph.D., but for now, you’ll catch her baking, collecting houseplants, gaming, and watching quality garbage movies.

Kyla Cummings

Kyla is a second-year undergraduate student currently pursuing a degree in Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Science. She is interested in women’s health and racial disparities within cognition/cognitive aging. After graduating in 2023, she plans on pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology. Aside from her studies and research, Kyla loves to spend her time reading, traveling, and eating chocolate chip cookies!

Lauren Bresky

Lauren is a junior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Human Behavior and Social Services. In the future she plans to obtain her PhD in clinical psychology and start her own therapy practice. Lauren’s research interests include understanding how mental health has physical impacts on the body and stress. Lauren is very passionate about increasing access and equity for mental health services. Lauren enjoys reading, watching MSU sports, and spending time outdoors.

Nicholas Yoshida

Nick is a senior at MSU studying Neuroscience and Psychology. He is passionate about caring for the youth while focusing on family/social support systems and how mental health care differs cross-culturally. After graduation, he plans on attending graduate school as he pursues a career in mental health, focusing on being a practitioner. In his spare time, he enjoys being involved in his campus ministry, learning dishes he can’t pronounce, and training Judo.

Nikila is a junior by credits majoring in Human Biology and double minoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovations and Bioethics. She plans to pursue a future in medicine specifically in OBGYN or Neonatology through the OMSP program at MSUCOM. Her research interests lie in how different body systems and factors effect mental health in women and children. Her hobbies include dance, tennis, singing, cooking, and baking!

Sarah is a senior majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Leadership of Organizations. She is fascinated with the human brain and is primarily interested in how biological mechanisms influence cognition and responses to stress. With these interests, she plans on pursuing a clinical psychology doctorate degree after graduation. When she is not studying, Sarah loves to go on the lake, spend time with friends, and play guitar!

 Sharanya is a Sophomore majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Anthropology. After undergrad, she plans on attending medical school. Su Min Joa

Su Min is a senior majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Spanish and Defense Studies. She is interested in how people’s emotions and anxiety relate to their cognitive control. With this foundation, she hopes to go into research dedicated to identifying potential new ways to help diagnose, treat, and prevent Alzheimer’s disease in the future. After graduation, she will be attending medical school to become a geriatric neuropsychiatrist. She likes to play tennis and golf, go for a run, and listen to TED talks during her free time.

Zac is a junior with a double major in Physiology and Psychology. He is interested in how habits of physical health (exercise, sleep, diet, mindfulness, etc.) influence mood regulation and overall cognitive performance. After graduation, he plans to attend medical school to become a physician. Outside of school, his favorite things to do are golf, go to the gym, and spend time outdoors with friends.
